Why Remortgage?

A Remortgage is the process of moving your existing mortgage to a new lender, or even to the same lender on a different set of terms.

Our mortgage review service will look at your current situation and mortgage, and advise you if a remortgage is appropriate, along with explaining the costs and savings!

You may have to pay an early repayment charge to your existing lender if you remortgage.
Problem and Solution Jigsaw

Remortgage to solve a problem!!

Many people find that they need to raise extra finance to solve a problem. That could be that you have run up unsecured loans, or need to raise some money for an extension or other renovation works.

People often thing that a remortgage is the answer, but there are many things to consider and several ways of achieving solutions to whatever problem you have.

What are my remortgage options?

You may want to remortgage to get a better rate, or reduce your mortgage term.

Or take out equity from your residential property to purchase a buy to let to create a new income stream

Let us review your current situation and your needs, and we can tailor a solution for you.

So… Why remortgage?

There are a few ways that a remortgage can save you money or help with your finances – all depending on your house value, the balance on your mortgage and even your credit rating..

Remortgage to reduce your mortgage length

Reducing the term (length of your mortgage) means exactly that. Changing your mortgage so that the end date is sooner. Remortgaging over a shorter period of time can dramatically reduce the amount of interest you pay over the duration of the loan, so can save you thousands.

Remortgage to raise capital

Considering some serious renovations? Remortgaging your home to take advantage of the equity that you have put into the property already can be a swift way to raise the  funds to carry out the works.  Particularly if you are adding value to the property.

Remortgage to take advantage of a better rate

This (along with the raising capital route) is the most frequent reason to remortgage. Although remortgaging comes with certain legal and lender costs, the savings on better interest rates can often outweigh these costs making an overall saving over time.

Remortgage due to a change in your credit rating

We often remortgage clients who have had previous historic credit issues. It may be that your initial mortgage deal was with a lender with a higher interest rate due to your credit history. Remortgaging away from them when your file is in better shape can reduce the cost and length!

Remortgage to consolidate debt

Whilst this is possible, its always best to discuss your situation with us. Although it seems an attractive proposition to lose your monthly commitments to the mortgage over a longer period of time, its often better to look at other options.

Is a remortgage the answer?

Our mortgage review service will look at your current deal with a view of what your goals and requirements are, and tailor make a package for you. This may be a remortgage, but could equally be one of many other solutions depending on your specific case.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
